Linnda Durré, Ph.D. is a psychotherapist, sports performance coach and consultant, corporate trainer, international speaker, writer, published author, magazine and newspaper columnist, TV and radio talk show host, and media guest.


She has worked with the Orlando Magic, pros in the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, PGA, tennis, and athletes vying for and in the Olympics, and in soccer, lacrosse, field hockey and swimming; as well as with their parents, families, spouses, and children.

INTRODUCTION


Linnda Durré, Ph.D. is a psychotherapist and sports performance coach and consultant, corporate trainer, international speaker, writer, published author, magazine and newspaper columnist, TV and radio talk show host, and media guest. She has worked with the Orlando Magic, pros in the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, PGA, tennis, and athletes vying for and in the Olympics, & in soccer, lacrosse, field hockey and swimming; as well as with their parents, families, spouses, and children. She has had interviews with the NY Giants, Detroit Tigers, Tennessee Titans, and the Brooklyn Nets, when they were the New Jersey Nets. Her B.A. is in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, and her M.A. and her Ph.D. in Psychology from CSPP, California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego, now known as Alliant International University


EARLY LIFE


Her own sports participation was encouraged by her father, who spent hours training & teaching her how to play sports. He was scouted by the NY Giants baseball team when they still played at the Polo Grounds in New York before they moved to San Francisco.

“If he had pursued it, he would have had his own plaque at Cooperstown - Baseball’s Hall of Fame - he was that good. He had won track medals in high school and was a short stop on his baseball team - quick, fast, and wiry,” she stated proudly.

In high school, she was president of Girls Athletic Association (G.A.A.) for two years, and even though she is only 5’2”, she earned five G.A.A. Awards in:

• Basketball • Volleyball • Track and Field • Acrobatics • Softball

She was also cheerleading captain of the junior varsity squad as a sophomore, and captain of the varsity squad as a junior and as a senior, as well as being voted Homecoming Queen. Dr. Durre' was one of two delegates from Metuchen High School, New Jersey to Girls State at Rutgers University during the summer before her senior year.


PROFESSIONAL CAREER


Dr. Durré consults and speaks to agencies, businesses, corporations, clubs, non-profit organizations, professional and trade associations, and government agencies on: sports performance, customer service training, time/stress management, conflict resolution, communication skills, team building, personality disputes, job satisfaction, diversity training, sex discrimination & harassment & other many topics. She has done crisis intervention training (CIT) for various police departments, including the Orlando Police Department, the Orange County (Florida) Sheriff’s Department, as well as a graduate school internship with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. She was an intern at and then hired as a full time drug counselor for NDRC – the Naval Drug Rehab Center at NAS Miramar, where they shot “Top Gun.”

She hosted and co-produced two live call-in TV shows: she was selected from 200 applicants in a national search to host, “Ask the Family Therapist,” on America’s Health Network (AHN), a national cable TV associated with Mayo Clinic, and was selected and vetted by both ANH and the Mayo Clinic. It aired from Universal Studios Orlando; and “Personal Success Hotline with Dr. Durre',” on a PBS affiliate. Dr. Durre' was “the weekly shrink” on CW’s nationally syndicated morning show, “The Daily Buzz”
for nine (9) months. She hosted and produced, “The Linnda Durré Show,” on WEUS 810 AM Radio, daily on weekdays from 12-1 PM, streaming live on audio at
www.810weus.com.. On Orlando’s WDBO radio, she hosted and co-produced, “The Dr. Linnda Durré Show.” She hosted and produced, “Let’s Talk with Dr. Linnda Durré,” in New York on an NPR station.

Dr. Durre' has been interviewed on Oprah, 60 Minutes, Canada AM, The Today Show, Good Morning America, O’Reilly (twice), AM LA, Daytime, Wharton's SiriusXM radio program and Wharton's newsletter; The Home and Family Show, Disney Channel, The Home Show, The Jerry Doyle Show, Ernie Reinhart’s Radio Show from Canada; Butler on Business, and on the local and/or national news programs on CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, CNN, NPR, CW & PBS.

She was admitted to the Writers Guild of America (WGA) when Aaron Spelling and Danny Thomas of Spelling-Thomas Productions, bought her TV series through her then agent, the legendary Irving Salkow, who handled Ava Gardner, William Holden, and Marilyn Monroe.

She taught aerobics classes years ago, and is a sports coach and consultant to elementary, high school, college, amateur, semi-pro and professional athletes, concerning peak performance, getting out of slumps, negative messages, mental & emotional fitness & toughness, and dealing with fame.
